Saturday April 5th. 3 pm

This month’s project: Building your very own birdhouse from scratch. Spring is coming upon us soon. Enjoy the day as you build your very own birdhouse as the base for your own backyard bird sanctuary. Starting from plain lumber, you will build a complete birdhouse that when finished can be put outside for the use of cavity nesting birds. The workshop is geared to do-it-yourselfers of all experience levels and is a great learning experience. This activity is a great way for families to work together and create a functional piece of art for their yard while bringing enjoyment to birds and birdwatchers for many years to come.

Using the CT Hackerspace Woodshop, you will take lumber stock and create your very own custom birdhouse. After a safety course, you will have access to the CT Hackerspace work tables, tools to use, helpful hints, an experienced guide on hand to guide you through the project.

Materials for this course are $15, and you may buy more than one kit and more than one family member can work on a kit together. Don’t forget to bring your artistic abilities!
